A chip up to the size of a quarter can usually be repaired, as long as it isn't within about two inches of the edge. A crack, a bigger chip or a chip at the edge means new glass. A repair is structural, not cosmetic: it stops the chip spreading, and the spot often looks better, but it doesn't disappear. If it still spreads within 30 days, the repair price comes off a new windshield.
Most cars from 2018 on have a forward camera behind the mirror that runs lane-keeping and emergency braking. A new windshield moves it. We scan before and after the install, calibrate in-house and hand you the report. It's in your price from the start. You can skip it, but then we can't be responsible for driver-assist faults afterward, and your invoice says so.
Glass is usually under comprehensive coverage in Georgia, subject to your deductible, and you can pick any glass shop. We work direct-pay: you pay us, and you get an itemized invoice, photos and the scan report, the paperwork insurers need to reimburse you. Compare your price to your deductible first.
